- Budget establishment and submission based on projects that are scoped and costed according to the User Requirement, including customer specification and budget adherence - as set out by the customer.
- Manage costs by ensuring that approved annual Project budgets are adhered to, and that costing is as efficient as possible.
- Ensuring cost efficiency and accuracy of components and add technical input where required. (Scope completeness).
- Work with the Procurement department to ensure compliance to the necessary tendering and procurement processes at Rand Refinery (system compliance).
- Ensure that the technical solutions provided, enable targeted plant efficiency and productivity.
- Technical solutions consider maintenance requirements that facilitate effective repairs and maintenance.
- Continuous improvement of systems and processes by identifying and suggesting alternative solutions that increase throughput, reduce utility consumption, and reduce the maintenance effort (overhead cost reduction).
- SHEQ management by ensuring that equipment, machinery, people and products are protected from risk and harm.
- Adhering to all legislative requirements. (SHEQ manager feedback, manager feedback, no LTIs and near miss reporting).
- Training is to be provided for all technology that is provided that varies in any way from procedure or is new (Incident reports).
- Effectively manage the contractors in line with the SHEQ project structure—no labour disputes or unresolved discipniary matters related to performance and delivery to customer, 360—degree report.
- A completed Matric qualification.
- A completed tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or Chemical Engineering.
- Preference will be given to candidates that are certified as a Project Management Professionals or other related Advanced Management certification.
- Preference will be given to candidates that have 5 to 8 years' experience in a similar role, which must be inclusive of a year in a formal Project Management role.
- Computer proficiency — MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), SAP, MS Projects system.
- Interpersonal skills — have sound communication skills, which allows you to provide clear direction to subordinates.
- Analytical reporting writing and negotiation skills.
- Administrative knowledge – able to manage administrative duties effectively.
- Communication skills – able to converse at all levels.
- Honesty, integrity, and the ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
- Positive attitude, resilience and decision making skills.
- Fault finding and investigations - understand techniques with high level of proficiency.
- Installation and commissioning knowledge relating to dynamics and processes of starting-up new installations.
