SUMMARY:
-POSITION INFO:We are recruiting a Senior Automation Engineer (Mechatronics) to lead the Automation Team and drive integrated solutions combining mechanical, electronic, and software systems. The role demands a balanced expertise in all three disciplines to design, optimize, and manage automated manufacturing processes.Key Focus:
  • Mechatronics Integration: Bridge gaps between mechanical, electronic, and software teams to deliver cohesive automation solutions.
  • Leadership: Directly manage technical teams and outsourced projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Innovation: Implement cutting-edge automation technologies to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Qualifications & Skills
  • BEng/BSc in Mechatronics
  • 7+ years in automation engineering, with proven leadership of technical teams
  • Hands-on work with PLC programming, robotics, and industrial software (e.g., Siemens TIA, Allen Bradley)
  • Mechanical/electrical system design (CAD, sensors, actuators)
  • Advantageous: Mining/explosives industry experience/ Familiarity with Industry 4.0 (IoT, AI in manufacturing)
Key Responsibilities: -Team Leadership:
  • Manage the Automation Team, delegating tasks across mechanical, electronic, and software engineers
  • Mentor junior engineers to build multidisciplinary expertise
System Design & Optimization:
  • Develop integrated mechatronic systems (e.g., PLCs, robotics, control systems)
  • Troubleshoot cross-disciplinary issues in existing manufacturing equipment
Project Execution:
  • Oversee automation projects from design to commissioning, ensuring seamless integration
  • Collaborate with R&D to industrialize new products
Standards & Compliance:
  • Establish protocols for documentation, software, and safety
