The coach will be paid a fixed term contract according to their expertise and coaching level. The Girls' College invites applications for the abovementioned position which will be available from 1 January 2026. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills and competencies to take on this position.The requirements for this position are:
  • A minimum of 2 years coaching experience at Open level.
  • A competitive level (post matric) or coaching experience in a school, university or club environment is preferred.
  • A professional Degree in Phys Ed, Sports Science or Sports Administration would be an added advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to fostering and building inclusiveness and diversity.
  • An awareness of and willingness to commit to the school's all-round ethos, co-curricular activities and pastoral approach
  • Any staff member working within a school is required to have a sexual offender's clearance certificate before employment can commence
  • Must have a valid driver's license
The role will include the following:
  • Daily morning training sessions as well as one gala day per week
  • Availability for all training and galas
  • Be involved in the Learn to Swim program
  • Coaching and management of a swimming team - Setting up team lists etc
  • Working with other swimming coaches
  • Individual and holistic development of students as social and high-level athletes
