Mechanical Technician

- Perform mechanical routine maintenance on plant equipment, including boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of mechanical equipment, identifying and reporting any damage or potential issues
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity
- Repair or replace faulty components using correct spare component, with proper appropriate tools and techniques
- Develop and implement effective solutions to equipment malfunctions under the guidance of engineering
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and equipment failures
- Monitor and analyze equipment / component performance to identify areas for improvement
- Implement modifications or adjustments as instructed by engineering to enhance system efficiency and reliability
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures in the plant
- Conduct regular safety checks on electromechanical equipment
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant codes and regulations
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to plant operations
- Perform Tag Out/Lock Out procedures as per company guidelines
- Matric and practical course completion (Red Seal)
- 3-5 year' s post apprenticeship experience in a similar environment.
- Plant and Equipment knowledge
- Maintenance procedures knowledge
- Ability to trace and troubleshoot problems
- ISO standards (quality, safety and environmental)
- Knowledge and experience with Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Report Writing
- Excellent Communication skills
