
Account Specialist | Veterinary Animal Science

- Grade 12 Certificate; Tertiary qualification in Veterinary Science (BVSc or equivalent) or Veterinary Nursing (BVetNurs or Dip.Vet.Verpl, or equivalent) or degree in Science (BSc or equivalent), Agriculture (BSc (Agric)) or Animal Science (or equivalent).
- Preferably 5 years animal health experience, and some sales experience.
- Previous sales and/or marketing experience in the Animal Health industry preferable
- A valid driver’s license
- A willingness and ability to travel extensively within the territory (Routes will involve often overnight travel)
- Reporting Structure: Commercial Manager
- Sales and Customer Territory: KwaZulu-Natal and eastern part of Eastern Cape
- The person in role is required to develop mutually beneficial and productive long-term partnerships with our veterinary customers (vet direct accounts, non-direct vet accounts and veterinary wholesalers) and maintain these relationships with the appropriate quantity & quality of activity.
- Work collaboratively to utilise the resources from the Marketing team, Technical team and bring a significant level of knowledge and expertise to the customer.
- Detailing and Selling: Through strong technical proficiency; excellent product knowledge and understanding, meeting customer's requirements thereby promoting our products using solution selling techniques.
- Territory and veterinary customer base analysis, identification of high potential veterinary and selected farmer customers.
- Establishing and maintaining of client relationships, management of budgets, identification and reporting of opportunities, ensure promotions are planned and implemented successfully as per Marketing strategy.
- To organize and present at Key farmer study group information events, in collaboration with the specific veterinary customer.
- Territory Administration: Regular updating of SalesForce and planning calls.
- Strong technical proficiency, and ability to transfer technical knowledge and understanding into effective product positioning within our customers' businesses, as well as our customers' customers (farmers).
- Demonstrates high level of Customer centric approach, combined with good business orientation.
- Computer literacy (including mobile devices), and Excel and PowerPoint intermediate skills.
- Results oriented: eager to achieve objectives and obtain the targeted results. Can confront obstacles to accomplish objectives.

- Good planning and prioritisation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills (English). Proficiency in Afrikaans will be advantageous.
