We have a fantastic on-site opportunity for a talented and experienced Mid-Weight Publications Designer to join the lovely team at a renowned publishing design and production studio in Cape Town's Southern Suburbs.As Publications Designer in this role, you will be responsible for producing innovative and visually compelling designs across a wide range of publishing projects. You'll have ample room for creativity and the chance to work on diverse design projects, including the design and layout of books, covers, corporate reports, magazines, packaging, and more.We are looking for a candidate who is fully au fait with the publications process and can 'hit the ground running'. You'll need to have a solid book of publication experience, with creative report design.The company prides itself on their reputation for exceptional design, attention to detail, and strong client relationships. Using your design flair and expertise with layout, typography, and visual communication, you'll deliver exceptional results to their clients. And as they continue to grow, they're looking for a passionate, creative and experienced Designer to join them. Is it going to be you?PLEASE NOTE: Applicants must be prepared to do a Design Test which involves the design and set up of a report, cover and inside pages showing design flair with typography, infographics and technical precision with the setup.RequirementsThe successful candidate must have/be:

A tertiary qualification in Graphic Design or a related field.
Minimum of 4-5 years' professional experience in a graphic design role in publishing.
Portfolio showcasing your conceptual design experience in publishing.
A highly creative and versatile designer with a strong portfolio in publishing design, showcasing your ability to create innovative visual concepts.
Expertise in publishing design and typography, and a thorough understanding of the production process for print and digital publishing.
Proficiency in DTP, with a particular focus on infographics and complex graphics.
Strong communication, presentation, and language skills, with an ability to articulate design ideas clearly and professionally to colleagues and clients.
Time management: the ability to work under pressure, to manage several projects simultaneously and meet all deadlines.
A team player who is solution driven who can be relied upon to meet own and team deadlines.
Providing creative, technical and production support to the Designer Team.
