- To lead the Maintenance team, fully support operations with machine availability, breakdowns, continuous improvements and closeout of repeat issues. Maintains full integration between Industrial engineering, maintenance and operations
- Ensure that all planned maintenance activities are supported, documented and completed in a timely manner to schedule. Ensure that all facility tasks are supported.
- Ensure equipment maintenance is completed to a high standard ensuring machine availability is maximised and all compliance standards are always met. This includes the management and timely implementation of permanent corrective actions against all causes of failure and ensuring equipment life is maximised while achieving optimum value for money.
- Works under the responsibility of this position will also include a range of projects, process improvement, equipment repair, and maintenance including overhauls, installation of machines, tools, and equipment in manufacturing operations
- Coordination of all daily and weekly maintenance tasks by line/area as defined by manager
- Creating an accurate plan for each maintenance day, weekends and plant shutdowns ensuring best use of resource available
- Ensure all shift engineering tasks (PM and Reactive via KPI set by Manager) are recorded in an accurate and timely manner and entered onto the computer system.
- Form effective relationships with all departments leads to ensure maintenance continuity across shifts
- Support the day-based engineering leadership by providing accurate engineering data as required
- Attend the morning operations meeting prioritising any immediate actions with the maintenance engineers.
- Ensure adequate resource is identified and communicated to cover both maintenance days and overhaul periods
- For planned maintenance activities, ensure the correct level of resources and parts/consumables are available for the workload.
- Liaise with the engineering/facilities planning function to ensure spare parts are available for planned activities
- Ensure all calibration work is planned and completed • Provide information to the Engineering Manager to compile weekly KPI's
- High level of accuracy of facts and data recorded on systems as provided by day and shiftbased engineering leadership.
- Seek appropriate external resource to assist in scheduled maintenance tasks where necessary
- Forming effective relationships with all departments of the operations team
- Forming effective relationships with all customer representatives
- Minimum Electrical / Mechanical Degree or Diploma. A Mechatronics qualification will be an added advantage. Government Certified Engineer will be desirable.
- 5-10 years experience in a similar role is essential.
- PLC and Automation Experience
- Management of Technical Staff • Automotive knowledge
- Allen Bradley & Siemens PLC's
- 8D/PPS experience or similar
- Maintenance of Spares and Stock Control
- Knowledge of OHS Act
- Government Certified Engineer would be desirable
- Understanding of PLC's, drives and automation systems
- Excellent troubleshooting ability • Knowledgeable in Maintenance best practice and CMMS systems to assist in delivering same.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft programs Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good technical analysis ability and proficient in report writing.
