Quality Technician - JhbFull job descriptionResponsibilities:Ensure that all components received and manufactured adhere to dimensional and other quality requirements reflected by drawings and specificationsAnalysis and reporting of non-conformance.Conduct process capability studies on tools and machines where and when required.Read and manage technical drawingsVerify on an Ad-Hoc basis where First Offs has been done, their accuracy and counter-sign documentation, reporting non-conformance to the Production Manager.Enforce quality checks on operators and assemblersStop the production process when quality requirements are not met, using the correct LINE STOP documentation.Ensure that measuring equipment on the production floor are calibrated and auditable records kept.Communicate non-conformance with supplier as well as production units when failure to adhere to quality requirement are discovered.Offer guidance on the introduction and use of Poke Yoke Gauging.Assist the QM with the in-house audits (with assistance of Roodepoort audit teams) of Process and System as detailed in the MSM. Also, to accompany AUDITORS during the ISO 9000 audits.Assist with QA function during New Product Development meetings on site.Represent QA in departmental during Quality Review meetings.To be actively involved in daily analysis of scrap at the Analysis Tables and to ensure that scrap is removed daily.Assist in maintenance of the ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 management system. Procedures, policy, company Context, and SOP’s.Participation on the VAVE process. Qualifications: Grade 12 or N3NQF level 3 of quality management certification Experience: No less than 5 years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environmentUsing measuring equipment such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Shadowgraph and 3D measuring machine.Ability to read drawings and specifications related to the product.Basic computer literacy.
