Senior leadership position with full operational responsibility across all key business areasCustomer Service & Sales
Ensure the highest standards of customer service, merchandising, and store presentation are consistently maintained by leading and coordinating with department heads across Sales, Stock, Administration, Finance, Logistics and Human ResourcesOperational Oversight
Oversee stock receiving, cycle counts and lossâprevention measures
Coordinate supplier negotiations and align purchases to sales trendsFinancial Reporting & Analysis
Compile a Monthly Management Pack covering
- Profit and loss summary by department
- Balanceâsheet highlights (stock, debtors, creditors)
- Cashâflow vs. forecast
- Budgetâversusâactual variances and action points
- KPI dashboard (sales per m², GP%, debtor days, stock turn, expense ratios)
- Consolidate Worcester and Swellendam results into a single reporting package
- Present findings and recommendations to the Board
Maintain a 12âmonth rolling forecast, updating for promotions and seasonal peaksStock Management & Loss Control
Oversee receiving, stocktake, stock reconciliation, and rotation processes
Investigate stock variances and implement corrective measures.
Enforce and monitor security protocols to minimise shrinkage and stock loss
Ensure healthy stock turnover and prevent over- or understockingMinimum Requirements
Matric (Grade 12)
Valid South African driver’s licence
A relevant tertiary qualification in Retail, Business Management, or similar will be advantageous
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior retail or operational leadership role, preferably in the hardware/building materials industryAdditional Advantages
Experience with IQ Retail software will be a strong advantage
Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and operational systems is essential
