- Prepare and set up laser cutting machines according to job specifications.
- Ensure proper calibration and alignment of the laser cutting equipment.
- Material Handling:
- Load and unload materials onto the laser cutting machine.
- Monitor and manage material inventory.
- Programming and Operation:
- Interpret and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and job specifications.
- Program laser cutting machines based on design requirements.
- Operate the machine to cut, trim, and shape materials with precision.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet design specifications.
- Make adjustments to the machine settings as needed to maintain quality standards.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine maintenance on laser cutting machines.
- Identify and troubleshoot machine issues, and coordinate with maintenance team for repairs.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while operating the laser cutting machine.
- Ensure a clean and organized work area to minimize hazards.
- Recordkeeping:
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including job orders, materials used, and machine settings.
- Report any deviations or issues in a timely manner.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with team members, including engineers and designers, to ensure seamless production processes.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to meet production goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant vocational training is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Laser Cutting Machine Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of laser cutting machine operations and programming.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift/move heavy materials.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
