Yard Supervisor - Steelpoort

• Supervise day-to-day operations in the yard, including receiving, storage, and dispatch of tyre products and related materials.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Coordinate with logistics teams to prioritize and schedule inbound and outbound shipments, including loading and unloading activities.

• Oversee inventory management processes, including stock counting, reconciliation, and cycle counting to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Monitor stock levels, reorder points, and stock rotation to minimize stockouts, overstock, and obsolescence.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of yard inventory to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate yard personnel, including forklift operators, yard hands, and maintenance staff.
• Delegate tasks, assign responsibilities, and provide guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
• Foster a positive work culture by promoting teamwork, communication, and adherence to safety protocols among yard staff.

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of yard equipment, such as forklifts, loaders, and conveyors, to ensure operational readiness and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule preventive maintenance tasks and address equipment breakdowns or malfunctions promptly.
• Monitor facility cleanliness, organization, and compliance with environmental regulations to maintain a clean and orderly yard area.

• Implement quality control procedures to inspect incoming and outgoing tyre products for defects, damage, or discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements for product handling, storage, and transportation.
• Investigate and resolve any quality or compliance issues, coordinating with relevant stakeholders as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience in yard operations, warehouse management, or logistics, preferably in the tyre industry or automotive sector.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in operating yard equipment, such as forklifts and loaders, and knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and computer applications for recordkeeping and reporting.
