This role will be focusing on leading and managing all on-site construction activities for mining infrastructure projects, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery in accordance with engineering designs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. This position will be based in the Northern Cape.Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the execution of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction works.
- Develop and manage construction schedules, resource plans, and budgets.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and commissioning teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Lead daily site operations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Supervise contractors and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to scope and specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress reviews.
- Liaise with project managers, consultants, and client representatives.
- Facilitate site meetings and resolve construction-related issues.
- Ensure timely reporting of progress, risks, and deviations.
- Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act, OHSA, and other relevant legislation.
- Implement and enforce site-specific safety plans and procedures.
- Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
- BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 8-10 years' experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in mining or heavy industrial projects.
- Experience with tailings dams, beneficiation plants, haul roads, and bulk earthworks is advantageous.
- Legally appointed as Construction Manager under MHSA (preferred).
