- Develop comprehensive Project Execution Plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and budget estimates.
- Work with stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives.
- Lead and motivate project teams, ensuring collaboration and effective communication.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and project requirements.
- Mentor team members.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial constraints.
- Monitor project expenditures and financial performance.
- Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project success.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address challenges proactively.
- Assist in negotiating and finalise contracts with vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and terms throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop project schedules and timelines, ensuring alignment with overall project goals.
- Monitor progress against established milestones and make adjustments as needed.
- Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure project deliverables meet industry standards and specifications.
- Conduct regular quality assessments and address issues promptly
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with project stakeholders, including government agencies, community representatives, and regulatory bodies, in compliance with business policies.
- Address stakeholder concerns and keep them informed of project progress.
- Efficiently allocate and manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Optimize resource utilization to ensure project efficiency.
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and permits
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
- Prepare regular progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget effectively.
- Assess the impact of changes and communicate adjustments to the project team and stakeholders
- Other tasks as may be assigned by the Head of Technical or the Country Coordinator.
- Degree in Engineering; preferably Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in power system installations (preferably renewable energy)
- Proven experience as a project manager, preferably in the energy or power sector.
- Must be self-motivated and demonstrate a sense of ownership with a high level of commitment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of energy industry regulations and standards.
- Must be able to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure.
- Must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint in particular)
- Proficient in project management tools and software (MS Projects in particular)
- Proficiency in English
- Self-motivated and demonstrate a sense of ownership with a high level of commitment and the ability to thrive under pressure.
- Passionate about quality of workmanship
- Good communication skills and ability to lead and work well in teams.
- Discretion in dealing with sensitive information.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and prioritize competing demands, passion for renewable energy
