So, join us, step towards a brighter future and leave your legacy.ABOUT MAMATWAN:The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country's Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world's manganese. This position is based at our open-cut Mamatwan mine which started operating more than half a century ago.WHAT SOUTH32 OFFERS:Eligible employees will receive an employer contribution towards the company-elected retirement fund.South 32 will support assistance for part-time studies aligned to role requirements and business needs at accredited institutions to eligible employees.ABOUT THE ROLE:This role is a permanent full-time position.As a fitter, you will be responsible for timely installation, repair and maintenance of equipment to ensure that mining activities are executed in a safe manner as well as operate equipment and tests all working parts in functional area to ensure proper utilization.Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

Complete hard copies of Job Cards and capture Job Cards on SAP;

Report deviations observed during inspections to ensure proper planning prior to execution

Interprets and coordinates pre-work about repairs, planned and predictive maintenance;

Accesses any area safely to perform necessary maintenance on machines or equipment;

Performs safety inspections of equipment and assesses risks on equipment;

Maintains a clean and safe worksite;

Ensures the upkeep of maintenance tools and equipment;

Coordinates activities associated with trouble- shooting and repairing maintenance equipment.

ABOUT YOU:You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience as a qualified Fitter in a mining environment;

In depth knowledge on inspection & repairs of pumps;

In depth knowledge of the workings of Jaw and Cone Crushers;

Experience in working on conveyor belts including belt replacement, bearings, gearbox, couplings etc.;

In depth knowledge of hydraulics and hydraulic systems including static rockbreaker and apron feeder.

Qualifications for this role are:

Grade 12 with mathematics;

N2 technical certificate;

Fitter trade;

Valid drivers license.
