- Accountable for leading the medical team, including medical personnel in field, training, administration, IT and supply chain functions.
- Maintain the highest service levels provided to clients and patients.
- Support business development initiatives in conjunction with the Commercial team by identifying new opportunities, providing information for the submission of bids, and promotion of the Starlite brand.
- Maintain compliance with SACAA Part 138 and EURAMI regulations, as well as industry standards for best practice.
- Risk management of medical-related occurrences at all Starlite bases.
- Support and Development of a robust Occupational Health management system for all Starlite bases, including oversight of fit-for-duty and crew health for all Starlite personnel deployed.
- Coordination and Management of the medical personnel roster.
- Management of the Medical Budget in line with contract and company requirements.
- Oversight of equipment and consumables stores, including coordination of equipment servicing and stock management.
- Oversight of IT and administration systems and processes, including patient documentation and records.
- Recruitment of medical personnel in line with contract requirements and client-specific criteria.
- Close collaboration with all key stakeholders within Starlite, to ensure successful execution of client deliverables.
- Oversight of Training and Development programmes in conjunction with the crew training manager.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage teams in dynamic and high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound understanding of medical logistics, equipment, and pharmaceutical management in austere environments.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards governing medical operations in remote or challenging settings.
- Proven ability to develop and implement quality assurance programs to ensure the delivery of safe and effective medical care.
- Experience in emergency response and disaster management is essential.
- Experience in Health and Safety management is desirable.
- Attention to detail, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective solutions.

- Clinical exposure in the provision of prehospital, aeromedical or emergency services with more than 5 years post-graduation experience.
- Proven experience in healthcare management roles, with a focus on leading and overseeing medical teams in dynamic and challenging environments.
- Working knowledge and experience of the healthcare audit process is essential. Experience with the SACAA Part 138 regulatory process is desirable.
- Bachelors Degree in Medicine, Nursing, Paramedical Sciences, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Appropriate Medical registration in country of origin (EU, UK, USA, RSA, AUS, NZ).
- Physician/Nurse: Additional specialisation in either Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care or Anaesthetics.
- Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), or approved equivalent.
- Valid Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)/International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)/Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS).
- Aviation for Health Care Providers (AHCP) or internationally accepted equivalent.
- Varied international medical and/or healthcare system experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in a managerial role in remote area medicine.
- Certification in Healthcare Management, Medical Administration, or a relevant field.
- English fluency (Oral and written) is required.
- French advantageous.
- You may be required to travel extensively due to operational requirements.
