Job Summary Company and Job Description:We’re looking for a detail-driven Draughtsman to join a dynamic engineering team working on cutting-edge solar infrastructure. From rooftop racking systems to large-scale ground mounts and carports, your technical drawings will form the blueprint for clean energy projects across South Africa.
This role is perfect for someone who loves turning engineering ideas into buildable, real-world solutions.Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings for solar mounting structures (rooftop, carport, ground mount, single-axis trackers).
  • Generate layout drawings, fabrication details, and assembly instructions.
  • Collaborate with engineers to translate concepts into clear technical outputs.
  • Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing and procurement.
  • Revise drawings based on engineering feedback or site conditions.
  • Support the preparation of installation manuals and as-built drawings.
  • Ensure drawings comply with company CAD standards and drawing management protocols.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
  • National Diploma in Mechanical or Structural Draughting (or equivalent qualification).
  • 3+ years experience in technical drawing, ideally in solar, steel structures, or construction.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modelling software (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, or Revit).
  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes and material specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil, mechanical, and architectural drawings.
  • Good organizational and version control habits.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
