The Temp Project Engineer role will be for a duration of 18 months contract.Responsible for the planning, design, development, and implementation of material handling systems, transport solutions, packaging, and logistics processes.The goal is to ensure efficient material flow from source to point of use, supporting Production, P&A (Parts & Accessories), Localisation, and Export projects in achieving their targets.The role also includes the oversight, analysis, and management of various Logistics Planning Contracts in collaboration with relevant group stakeholders.Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement detailed logistics material flow concepts within production and warehouse environments to optimize efficiency.
  • Create layouts, technical drawings, and specifications for logistics facilities and services using the latest technological solutions.
  • Design and procure logistics equipment (e.g., stillages, pallets, dunnage, trolleys, racking, storage systems, and packaging) based on project or production requirements and corporate objectives.
  • Define and manage project plans, including coordination and progress monitoring.
  • Prepare and issue Enquiry Requests with clearly defined specifications to source supplier quotations.
  • Evaluate and negotiate supplier quotations to achieve the best value in terms of specification and cost.
  • Compile and submit appropriation requests to support capital expenditure justifications.
  • Raise and process purchase requisitions.
  • Coordinate project handovers by organizing equipment demonstrations and facility trials.
  • Provide budget estimates for inclusion in investment programs, cost studies, localisation, and export initiatives.
  • Develop and implement packaging specifications aligned with project or production needs.
  • Draft and maintain Logistics Material Handling Contract specifications in consultation with key stakeholders.
  • Organize and lead cross-functional meetings as required.
Qualifications
  • Degree or National Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Logistics.
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistics operations within the automotive manufacturing sector.
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Project Engineer in Logistics Planning or a comparable planning environment.
Core Competencies
  • Strong planning, organizational, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage tight deadlines.
  • Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in interpreting and creating 3D CAD drawings.
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint), with advanced Excel skills.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with SAP systems in Supply Chain Management.
