We’re seeking an experienced Bar Manager to join their leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the bar operations of the hotel. - Provide strong leadership and direction for the daily operations of both the Senate and Deck Bars.
- Ensure seamless service, quality beverage experiences, and a vibrant atmosphere for all guests.
- Cultivate a welcoming and engaging environment for guests in both bars.
- Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, actively seeking feedback to improve service.
- Ensure all beverages, service standards, and bar hygiene meet brand expectations.
- Conduct regular staff training and uphold liquor licensing regulations.
- Implement systems for efficient inventory control and cost management across both bars.
- Minimize waste, negotiate effectively with vendors, and maintain accurate stock levels.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and motivate bartenders and barbacks.
- Conduct annual performance appraisals, ensure HR policies are followed, and handle disciplinary matters as required.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment.
- Collaborate with bartenders and management to create creative and profitable beverage menus.
- Consider seasonality, guest preferences, and current trends when designing menus.
- Monitor and analyse bar sales performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and revenue.
- Track expenses to ensure profitability and meet monthly budget targets.
- Work with the marketing team to design engaging promotions and events for both bars.
- Drive traffic and increase sales through creative campaigns.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role within a bar or hospitality environment.
- Degree or diploma in hospitality management (or related field) advantageous.
- Certification in wine and spirits preferred.
- Strong knowledge of bartending techniques, beverage creation, and responsible alcohol service.
- Experience in inventory management, cost control, and liquor licensing regulations.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a bar team.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, POS, and restaurant management software.
- Must hold a valid South African ID
