Role PurposeA Network Support Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing MMH network. This position involves providing technical support, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of network infrastructure. The Level 2 Engineer is expected to have a strong understanding of networking principles, protocols, and technologies, as well as the ability to resolve more complex issues compared to Level 1 support.
Requirements
- Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), AWS Certification and NSE4 Fortinet Certification
- Proven experience in a network support role, preferably in a Level 2 capacity.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions to ensure optimal network operation.
- Conduct routine checks to identify and address potential issues proactively.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as updating firmware, applying patches, and configuring network devices.
- Provide second-level technical support for network-related issues escalated from Level 1 support or end-users.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network problems, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address network-related challenges.
- Respond to network incidents, outages, and disruptions promptly.
- Conduct in-depth troubleshooting to identify the root cause of network problems and implement corrective actions.
- Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and procedures for future reference.
- Configure and optimize network devices such as routers, switches and other network hardware.
- Collaborate with system administrators and other IT professionals to ensure seamless integration with other IT systems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures.
- Generate reports on network performance, incidents, and resolutions for management review.
- Contribute to the development of knowledge base articles for Level 1 support.
- Stay updated on the latest networking technologies, trends, and best practices.
- Provide training and mentorship to Level 1 support staff.
- Share knowledge with the team to enhance overall expertise and capabilities.
- Collaborate with vendors, service providers to address network-related issues and enhancements.
- Communicate effectively with end-users and other stakeholders to understand and address their network-related concerns.
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, technologies, and best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
