Safety and Environment Officer

• Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections across the facility
• Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act 85 of 1993)
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Facilitate safety training, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills. Maintain and update safety documentation, including SOPs, MSDS, and risk registers
• Monitor and manage environmental aspects such as waste, emissions, and resource usage
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation (e.g., NEMA, Air Quality Act)
• Maintain ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System documentation
• Coordinate environmental impact assessments and sustainability initiatives
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and prepare reports for environmental audits

• Matric
• National Diploma or Degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in HSE roles within manufacturing – Automotive sector
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
• NEBOSH, SAMTRAC, or equivalent certification is advantageous
• Proficient in MS Office and HSE management systems
