A leading private hospital group is seeking an experienced Theatre Unit Manager to take charge of a Day Theatre in Boksburg. The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse with a post-qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing Science, proven leadership ability, and strong clinical expertise. This is an exciting opportunity to drive high standards of patient care and lead a specialised team within a dynamic healthcare environment.Duties & ResponsibilitiesEnsure delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality nursing care in the Day TheatreMonitor patient safety, infection prevention, and adherence to clinical protocolsMaintain compliance with SANC standards and all relevant healthcare legislationDrive continuous improvement in theatre practices and patient outcomesLead, mentor, and develop a skilled nursing team within the unitFacilitate training, coaching, and ongoing professional development of staffConduct performance management, capacity building, and succession planningFoster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellenceOversee daily theatre operations, ensuring smooth coordination of proceduresManage resources, equipment, and supplies to support theatre efficiencyImplement quality assurance processes and maintain accreditation standardsCollaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to enhance patient experienceEnsure compliance with professional, ethical, and organisational policiesMaintain accurate records and reporting for audits and regulatory requirementsEnforce adherence to health and safety legislation in the theatre environmentSupport the implementation of evidence-based best practices in nursing careBuild strong relationships with doctors, patients, and hospital managementParticipate in hospital committees and contribute to broader clinical strategiesSupport communication and collaboration across departments for optimal service deliveryMinimum RequirementsDiploma in General Nursing / B Cur Degree (or equivalent NQF 7 qualification)Post-graduate qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing Science (essential)Registered with SANC as a Professional NurseRelevant experience in a Theatre environment (essential)Strong clinical leadership and operational management experienceIn-depth knowledge of nursing theory, theatre practices, and healthcare legislationReady to step into a leadership role and make a real impact in specialized healthcare?RPO Recruitment can connect you with this exciting opportunity.
