Job Summary:The Workshop Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring efficient servicing, repair, and maintenance of printers and related office equipment. This role combines technical expertise in printers with strong leadership, organizational, and administrative skills to oversee workshop staff, workflow, stock control, and customer service.Qualifications and Skills:
  • Grade 12 (Matric) - Technical or IT qualification is advantageous.
  • Proven experience as a Workshop Manager in a printer/office automation environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of printers, copiers, and multi function devices (MFDs).
  • Experience in troubleshooting hardware, firmware, and software issues.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and people management skills.
  • Computer literacy: MS Office, workshop / job card management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and communication abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
Duties and responsibilities:Workshop and Technical Management: Oversee the repair, servicing, and maintenance of printers, copiers, and related office equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot printer hardware and software faults. Supervise and support technicians to ensure quality and timely service delivery. Plan, schedule, and allocate tasks to maximize productivity and minimize downtime. Monitor and enforce health, safety, and compliance standards in the workshop. Ensure all repairs and services meet quality and manufacturer standards.Customer Service and Support: Liaise with clients regarding printer repairs, maintenance schedules, and service requirements. Provide technical advice and solutions to customers. Ensure customer satisfaction through timely and professional service delivery.Stock and Procurement: Manage stock of printer parts, consumables, and tools. Source and order replacement parts and consumables at competitive prices. Maintain relationships with suppliers and ensure availability of critical printer components. Monitor inventory and control workshop expenses.Administration and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and service histories. Prepare reports on workshop performance, service costs, and turnaround times. Manage job cards, warranties, and customer documentation. Train and mentor staff on printer repair techniques and workshop procedures.Notes:
