Minimum requirements for the role:
  • Must have a relevant tertiary degree (B. Sc. or M. Sc.) in Plant Breeding, Agriculture, or a related field
  • Minimum 1 -2 years’ post-graduate experience in plant breeding or related roles
  • Strong understanding of plant breeding principles and methodologies is essential
  • Experience in wheat, small grains, sorghum or other row crops is preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to be on site daily
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Conducting breeding experiments to develop improved crop varieties.
  • Analyzing data and reporting findings to the Managing Director.
  • Collaborating with research teams and agronomists on breeding programs.
  • Managing field trials and evaluating plant performance under various conditions.
  • Maintaining accurate records of breeding activities and results.
  • Assisting in the development of new breeding techniques and technologies.
  • Participating in industry conferences and workshops to stay updated on advancements.
  • Working closely with stakeholders to address agricultural challenges and optimize crop production.
  • Providing technical support and training to team members and partners.
