- Contribute to strategic planning and oversee the daily operational execution of store activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective customers to better understand and meet service requirements.
- Ensure merchandise availability and approve necessary supplier contracts.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies and promotional initiatives in line with market trends.
- Monitor advertising, displays, and sales performance to ensure profitability targets are met.
- Implement and maintain store security and risk prevention measures.
- Ensure the store complies with all relevant legislation and safety standards.
- Analyze financial and operational reports to inform marketing and business strategy.
- Schedule, assign, and follow up on staff tasks to ensure operational requirements are fulfilled.
- Operate within established controls and procedures to ensure compliance across all store activities.
- Identify and monitor operational risks and maintain an updated risk register.
- Report discrepancies or concerns to management promptly.
- Enforce adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies and ensure team awareness.
- Ensure the store meets all legal, safety, and ISO-related requirements.
- Foster strong relationships with both internal and external customers to provide exceptional service.
- Represent the store in stakeholder meetings and communicate effectively with all relevant parties.
- Identify and resolve issues with professionalism and in alignment with company values.
- Ensure all customer service standards and SLAs are consistently upheld.
- Ensure all employees have signed performance agreements and understand their responsibilities.
- Conduct regular performance appraisals and provide feedback.
- Collaborate with HR to identify development needs and implement training plans.
- Support a positive employee relations environment by addressing issues in a fair and timely manner.
- Promote continuous learning and professional development among team members.
- Participate in the annual budget planning process.
- Promote effective and transparent use of financial and physical resources.
- Monitor and control expenditures in line with the approved budget.
- Proactively identify opportunities to reduce operational costs and improve efficiency.
- Report any deviations from the budget to the relevant manager for corrective action.
- Diploma in Business Administration, Sales, or Marketing (NQF 6)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales, or Marketing (NQF 7)
- 5 years of experience in Retail Sales or Marketing, with at least 3 years at a supervisory level
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and relevant industry-specific software
- Sound knowledge of retail operations, compliance requirements, and sales principles
