Position: Business Development Specialist – Construction Projects (EPC)
Location: Edenvale
Salary: R900,000 – R1,000,000 per annumRole Overview:We are seeking an experienced and strategic Business Development Specialist to drive growth within an Electrical Construction Projects (EPC) division. This role requires a dynamic professional with a strong understanding of the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) environment, and the ability to lead strategic initiatives, forge key relationships, and close high-value deals.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement strategic business development plans to drive revenue growth and expand market share.Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities in the electrical construction, EPC, and engineering sectors.Build and maintain robust relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and other key stakeholders.Conduct thorough market analysis to stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop tailored solutions that meet client specifications.Lead contract negotiations including pricing, terms, and conditions in alignment with company objectives.Manage the full sales lifecycle from lead generation to deal closure.Provide regular insights and performance reports to senior management.Minimum Requirements:Qualifications & Certifications:Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Business (essential)Additional certification in Sales or Business Development (advantageous)Experience & Skills:Minimum 5 years of proven business development experience, specifically within the EPC, construction, or energy sectorsStrong technical knowledge of electrical infrastructure, including power generation, transmission, distribution, and renewablesEstablished network within the South African energy and construction industriesAdvanced sales, negotiation, and contract management skillsExperience with EPC project development, including regulatory frameworks, tender procedures, and project lifecycle managementKnowledge of project financing models, including their application, benefits, and constraintsFamiliarity with project bid pricing strategies and public/private procurement proceduresProficient understanding of contract management frameworks such as NEC and FIDICWillingness to travel nationally and across the African continent as requiredIdeal Candidate Profile:The successful candidate will bring a balanced mix of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and sector-specific insight, with a demonstrated ability to lead initiatives that align client needs with business goals in a highly competitive EPC environment..
