Packaging Development Specialist - Howick

• Support the Marketing Manager in developing and refining the annual packaging NPD (New Product Development) strategy
• Lead the implementation of packaging NPD projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives
• Manage the packaging NPD budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation and accurate tracking of expenses
• Source and evaluate packaging suppliers, negotiate pricing, and manage initial orders
• Optimise packaging artwork and design to balance quality, cost, and brand alignment
• Drive cost optimisation of existing packaging orders in collaboration with procurement
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful project delivery
• Maintain accurate reporting on project progress, budget performance, and supplier compliance
• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities in packaging procurement and development
• Ensure all packaging complies with regulatory, sustainability, and quality standards
• Communicate effectively with suppliers to manage sourcing, compliance, and specifications
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including packaging specs, test results, and compliance records
• Incorporate feedback from production, marketing, sales, and dispatch teams to refine packaging solutions

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, Supply Chain, or related field
• 5 Years of experience in packaging development or project management, preferably in FMCG or manufacturing
• Creative problem-solver with a strategic mindset
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
• Proficiency in packaging materials, artwork processes, and sustainability practices
• Excellent project management and communication skills
• Valid code 08 driver’s license
• Strong MS Excel knowledge
