A leading international mining and engineering consultancy is seeking a highly experienced Senior Tailings Engineer (Pr. Eng.) to join our growing South African-based team.POSITION INFO:Key Responsibilities:Serve as Engineer of Record (EoR) or technical advisor for TSF design, construction, and operational managementLead and review geotechnical designs, risk assessments, and performance monitoring programs for tailings structuresProvide expert input on dam safety inspections, instrumentation data analysis, and mitigation strategiesEnsure compliance with international standards (e.g. GISTM, CDA, ANCOLD) and regional regulatory frameworksCollaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory bodiesMentor and supervise junior and mid-level engineers in the tailings and geotechnical groupPrepare technical reports, proposals, and client presentations hr data-start="1603" data-end="1606" />Requirements:Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration (South Africa or internationally recognized equivalent)Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience, with a strong focus on tailings dams and geotechnical engineeringProven experience acting as or supporting the Engineer of Record (EoR) on major TSF projectsStrong knowledge of geotechnical software and slope stability modelling tools (e.g., GeoStudio, FLAC, PLAXIS)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsWillingness to relocate to and reside in Dubai full-timeAbility to travel to mine sites on a scheduled basisPreferred Qualifications:MSc or higher in Geotechnical Engineering, , or related disciplineExperience in arid and desert geotechnical environmentsFamiliarity with environmental and social governance (ESG) best practices in tailingsApply Now:Send your CV and a brief cover letter to .
