- Grade 12 with 5+ years’ experience in external sales in the flexible plastics industry
- Knowledge of extrusion process / industry and able to work unsupervised
- Fluent in English, Afrikaans and / or Zulu advantageous and good computer literacy
- Valid drivers and willing to travel within Gauteng province and occasionally outside
- Able to source business from cold calling and carry through to sale conclusion
- Proven sales track record in the flexible plastics industry market
- Empathetic towards clients and have an upbeat & positive attitude
- Generate leads, engaging clients, negotiating sales agreements, achieving sales targets
- Lead generation – identify/qualify clients; build a sales pipeline
- Client engagement – conduct meetings; presentations and demonstrations; understand client’s needs; build relationships
- Sales negotiation – negotiate terms and conditions; provide quotes, proposals & contracts
- Market research – updated with market trends; analyse market to identify opportunities
- Collaboration/internal teams – work closely with marketing for new business opportunities
- Sales reporting – keep detailed sales activities records; submit reports on achievements
- Sales target – set/achieve sales targets; strive to exceed sales goals
- Call cycle management – develop plan for outreach; create client schedule; follow up on leads; gather client feedback
