Diesel Mechanic

• Perform regular servicing, preventative maintenance, and mechanical repairs on lodge vehicles, generators, and machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues, replacing or repairing defective parts as needed.

• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify engine malfunctions, system failures, and other technical issues.

• Overhaul and rebuild engines, clutches, gearboxes, differentials, and drive trains.
• Service and repair suspension, brake (hydraulic & air), electrical, and hydraulic systems.

• Mechanical Knowledge: Strong understanding of diesel engines, fuel injection, combustion, and emissions control.
• Diagnostic Skills: Ability to use diagnostic tools to identify and isolate faults quickly and accurately.
• Electrical Skills: Knowledge of wiring, starters, alternators, and other electrical components.
• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
• Safety Awareness: Strict adherence to safety regulations and best practices.

• Trade-tested Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal advantageous).
• 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a lodge, safari, or agricultural environment.
• Experience with 4x4 safari vehicles (Land Cruiser/Land Rover preferred).
• Valid driver’s license (PDP advantageous).
• Willingness to work in a remote lodge environment
