Responsible for site maintenance, safety and security.Area of responsibility 1: Management of PeopleMain activities:Propose resource requirements and appropriate organizational structure to meet the strategic missions, critical success factors and business outcomes for the departmentManage and supports the recruitment of staff with the right experience, competencies and fit with the Virbac cultureProvide ongoing feedback and coaching to direct reports in order to ensure they meet the expectations of performance, and to develop and support them in their roleEnsure the implementation of: proper performance definition (job description and objectives) evaluation (regular feedback, annual performance review and other appropriate performance management measures) reward and recognition training and development processes (Individual development plans as appropriate)Ensure the communication and understanding of the company’s vision, values, culture and strategy, and fosters a positive, motivating working environment for all employeesAssist in the implementation of programs to improve employee and team performance, satisfaction and retention.Contribute to succession planningEncourage and facilitates interdepartmental team workEnsure the department proactively participates in all environmental, health and safety initiatives and complies with required policies and standardsExpected results:To create, develop and retain an aligned, high performing, motivated team of people to achieve the desired outcomes of the department through coaching, mentoring, management, training and development to maximize the potential of the Industrial Operations teamArea of responsibility 2: Execution of the Strategic Industrial Operations PlanMain activitiesDevelop and implement an industrial operations strategic plan aligned to the Group strategic plan.Ensure that the strategic plan is aligned to global and regional priorities.Ensure that an appropriate organisational structure is in place in order to meet outputrequirements.Assist in the preparation of Opex and Industrial cost budgetsSourcing of raw materials contributing to improving COGSEnsure the development of people to maximise their potential.Ensure that Industrial Operations activities are conducted within agreed budgetExpected Results:To develop and maintain a strategy for the Industrial Operation department that is aligned to the organisational strategy (local and regional)Area of responsibility 3: Supply Chain ManagementMain activities:Maintain oversight and give guidance to Supply Chain Manager to:Ensure that Sourcing and Purchasing activities are compliant with relevant legislation and deliver business efficienciesEnsure that distribution and stock management is done within corporate guidelines and efficientlyMaintain inventory at appropriate levels and in good conditionEnsure that our customer service to the market is not compromisedExpected ResultsTo ensure that the supply chain management activities are aligned with organisational supply chain guidelines and relevant legislation while achieving supply chain efficiencies and targetsArea of responsibility 4: Quality ComplianceMain activities:Maintain oversight and give guidance to Quality Assurance Manager to:Ensure that quality management systems are in place and maintained to ensure compliance with Marketing Authorizations and all legislation pertaining to cGMPEnsure compliance with Pharmaceutical legislation/best practicesEnsure GMP status with SAHPRA is maintainedSupport marketing and sales initiatives, both local and for export markets,by ensuring local facility remains compliant with cGMExpected ResultsTo ensure systems are in place and maintained to ensure compliance with Marketing Authorizations and all legislations pertaining to cGMPArea of responsibility 5: Manufacturing FacilityMain activities:Maintain oversight and give guidance to Production Manager to:Ensure plant capacity is maximised within inventory constraintsEnsure productivity metrics contribute to lower cost of goodsEnsure positive variances are maintained on Industrial Standard CostsEnsure correct costing is allocated to production activitiesProduction activities occur within the budgeted targetsManage yield variance on critical Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and Finished goods to reduce obsolescenceEnsure production of high quality productsExpected ResultsEnsure positive Variance on Industrial Standard Cost whilst producing products that meet the quality criteria for releaseArea of responsibility 7: Facility ManagementMain activitiesBe responsible for site security and safety in line with OHSA legislative requirements as per 16 (2) appointmentProvide input to Head Office for the compilation of the group sustainable development reportMaintain oversight and give guidance to Industrial Operations Coordinator and MaintenanceHandyman to:Ensure a preventative maintenance plan for infrastructure is developed and actionedEnsure that there is preventative maintenance plan for all on site equipment to prevent disruption to production activitiesEnsure that maintenance activities are done within budget and with minimal impact of work outputExpected ResultsTo ensure compliance with OHSA for personnel safety and security whilst maintaining infrastructure and equipment to the desired standardsRequirements (Diploma and experience)Educational level or equivalent experienceGrade 12 (Matric)A Bachelor of Pharmacy degree and / orExtensive experience in Industrial Operations (Production, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supply Chain) would be preferable.Total number of year’s experience required to fulfill the role :7 years experience in industrial operationsSkillsComputer literate (Movex, G Suite)Production planningGood warehousing & inventory management practicesPurchasing skillsGood distribution practicesPeople managementProduction, GMP,
