This role entails overseeing the technical design aspects of projects within the Section and offering support to Professional Engineers/Scientists/Other Professionals/Consultants.Key Responsibilities:Oversee and lead small teams consisting of Technicians, Students, Draughtsmen, and Graduates.Provide guidance and support to Technicians, Graduate Technologists, and/or Graduate Engineers in the utilization of relevant software tools.Review and assess the work completed by other team members.Enhance design proficiency and uphold high-quality standards.Prepare technical reports with both technical accuracy and effective presentation.Make technical judgments and offer solutions rather than delivering final outcomes.Capable of presenting and representing technical work effectively.Draft responses for straightforward bids, seeking assistance with commercial aspects as needed.Gain understanding of the commercial dimensions of project management.Acquire knowledge about Functional Unit technologies and market dynamics.Conduct inspections to ensure constructed works comply with design and specifications.Oversee construction administration and monitoring processes.Prepare tenders for construction projects, including Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and specifications.Create tender bids for clients, including preliminary cost estimates.Develop internal standards and ensure their implementation.Recommended Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:Bachelor of Engineering degree/higher degree from accredited university/collegeMinimum 3 years of practical experienceExperience in Bridge and Structural EngineeringAdvantageous to have experience in pedestrian bridges, highway structures and rail structuresClear understanding of local functional business technologies and marketsKnowledge of basic project management and the use of project management softwareClosing Date: Friday, 19 April 2024How to ApplyAll applications must be submitted online.
