A well-established international fresh produce exporter, with over a decade of successful operations in the Gulf region, is now expanding to South Africa. As part of this exciting growth, the company is seeking a skilled and experienced Regional Procurement & Export Officer in the Cape Town area to help build its local presence. This is a unique opportunity to join a start-up procurement and export operation in South Africa, backed by a proven business model and strong global partnerships.The focus of the Procurement & Export Officer will be on the sourcing and export of fresh fruits and vegetables. This role requires a deep understanding of the South African fresh produce market and strong coordination with international teams. This role begins as a remote position, with the possibility of transitioning to an office-based setup in the Cape Town area as the South African team expands.Key Responsibilities:

Source and procure fresh produce in line with seasonal availability and market demand.
Manage vendor relationships and negotiate competitive pricing and terms.
Handle export documentation, logistics, and compliance, particularly for GCC countries.
Collaborate with teams based in Dubai and Saudi Arabia to ensure smooth operations.
Maintain accurate records and ensure timely delivery of goods.
Travel locally within South Africa to meet suppliers and inspect produce quality.

Requirements:

3-5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or exports of fresh fruits/vegetables.
Strong knowledge of South African produce markets, seasons, and supplier networks.
Proven experience in export logistics and documentation.
Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
Proficiency in MS Office; ERP system experience is a plus.
Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of Afrikaans is advantageous.
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
High integrity, attention to detail, and a results-driven mindset.
