This role suits individuals who value precision, thrive in high-performance settings, and are committed to impactful healthcare.Role RequirementsTo be considered for a senior role in Cytogenetics at Ampath, you must hold either:
  • a National Diploma in Medical Technology with HPCSA registration as a Medical Technologist, or a BSc Honours degree with HPCSA registration as a Medical Scientist.
You bring 5 years of experience in a Cytogenetics laboratory, including the analysis, verification, and sign-out of complex results for haematological malignancies and congenital abnormalities. You also provide expert training in chromosome analysis and assess staff competency, ensuring alignment with clinical and laboratory quality standards. This experience reflects your readiness to lead in a specialised, high-performance diagnostic environment.Skills RequirementsYou are fluent in English and Afrikaans, both written and spoken, and are confident using computer technology to support laboratory operations. Your numerical reasoning skills enable you to perform calculations with precision, supporting the integrity of diagnostic results.
