Quality Engineer (Safety)

• Assisting in new projects with the establishment of Product Safety. The target is complete implementation of actions/corrective actions to vehicle safety requirements for the prevention of repeat failures with the use of the Product Safety catalogue (lessons learnt).
• Inspecting pre-series units in conjunction with other Q-type responsible PSB's to expedite safety relevant problem recognition and corrective action implementation.
• Undertaking regular vehicle and line checks to evaluate current production (parts, part assemblies and sub-assemblies), and obtain corrective actions for any potential safety relevant problems detected.
• Representing the interest of the Quality Assurance Department during technical discussions with Service and the Product Safety Committee.
• Ensuring/Initiating and/or assisting in the establishment of corrective action to resolve the problem, tracking monitoring of the implementation of agreed actions and verification of the effectiveness within the Production / Field with the Service Department.

• National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 3-5 years' relevant experience in the automotive industry within Production/ Product Engineering / Quality environment.
• Knowledge of the vehicle functions (Body, powertrain, chassis, electrical)
• Ability to process and analyse complex data
• Strong computer skills (Ms Office incl. HyperKVS, AVON, AQUA, ELSAWin, FIS)
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills
• Ability to communicate and present at all levels within the organisation
• Be a self-starter and be able to work independently.
• Be able to make informed decisions in appointing accountability on behalf of Group
• Added Advantage - Knowledge of Konzern systems
