Senior Design Draughtsman

- Do plant layouts with input from clients, management, costing and BOM in AutoCAD 3D and Solidworx.
- Concept and detail design of products and complete plants
- Manufacturing drawings in .dxf
- Do procurement, receive and check parts as required
- Development of standard products in conjunction with the company's personel. This comprise of tested designs, manufacturing drawings, quotations, suppliers, procurement lists and design reviews.
- The design draughtsman will report to the drawing office manager
- The design draughtsman will manage other designers when required
- Manage drawings and model configuration
- Update drawing registers, storage and backup
- Conduct design reviews with management and clients
- Assess engineering problems and find solutions
- Process and manufacturing planning and follow up
- Check models and drawings for correctness and manufacturability
- Prevent recurring mistakes by compiling a self-check list with recorded common mistakes
- Ensure company's standards are applied (How/when)
- Prepare design quotations based on concept designs
- Draught specific statement of work that accompany the quotation
- Standard work procedures
- List all work on a project schedule and assign realistic timescales
- All of the above subject to meetings/reviews
- Proven track record for relevant design to similar products
- Minimum 5 years Solidworx design experience
- Totally proficient in Solidworx
- Flow simulation will be an advantage
- FEA proficiency
