Job SummaryFunctions and Events Coordinator - Luxury Hotel, Cape TownKendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Functions and Events Coordinator to join a luxury hotel in Cape Town. This role requires a highly organised and motivated individual with a proven track record in coordinating functions and events at a 5-star level.The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of event planning and management, from provisional bookings through to execution, ensuring seamless delivery and guest satisfaction.Salary: R18,000 - R20,000 (Negotiable DOE)Responsibilities:Monitor and manage provisional and confirmed function and conference bookings, ensuring no double bookings occurUpdate function sheets and communicate confirmations to all relevant departmentsOversee all aspects of internal and external event planning, including exhibitions and large business-to-business eventsCreate event proposals tailored to client requirements and present them within deadlinesMaintain strong relationships with vendors and coordinate site inspections with clientsDelegate event planning tasks to team members where necessaryManage and oversee events on the day, including guest liaison, vendor coordination, and staff communicationHandle financial administration including issuing invoices, collecting payments, and preparing financial reportsCollaborate with the marketing team to ensure effective event promotions and materialsIdentify and create sales opportunities for future events during client interactionsMinimum Requirements:3-5 years' experience as a Functions and Events Coordinator (5-star hotel or similar environment advantageous)Previous leadership experienceExcellent communication skills with a high level of English proficiencyStrong numeracy and financial reporting skillsAbility to plan effectively in advance and train/develop team membersMotivated, enthusiastic, and energetic team player with a positive attitudeWillingness to work shifts and manage multiple priorities under pressureOwn transport preferableKendrick RecruitmentRecruiter
