The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent person to manage and facilitate the hosting of major sport events with sport federations, event owners and NGOs, contributing sport infrastructure projects with the help of municipalities, capacitation of municipal officials on eventing and maintenance of sport facilities, hosting of the provincial sport awards, etc. This post is based in Cape Town (CBD).
Minimum RequirementsAn appropriate 3-year B- Degree (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in management and administration.
RecommendationA valid (Code B or higher) driving licence or alternatively people with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.
Key Performance AreasManaging staff; Managing budgets; Ensuring smooth operations of the component; Leadership; Human resources.
CompetenciesKnowledge of the following: Financial Management; Human Resources; Knowledge in Infrastructure, Reserach, major events and sport tourism.Skills needed: Computer literacy in MS Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc); Communication skills (written and vertbal); Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
RemunerationAll-inclusive salary package of R 811 560 per annum (Salary level 11)Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
