Our client based in Durbanville is looking for a Senior Conveyancing Paralegal to join their Transfer department.Requirements:
  • Matric qualification
  • Legal secretary/paralegal / conveyancing qualification advantageous
  • 3-5 Years experience in a similar role
  • Experience working on LexisConvey
Duties :
  • Managing conveyancing transactions: The senior conveyancing paralegal oversees the entire conveyancing process, including drafting and reviewing legal documents, conducting property searches, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Client communication: They act as a point of contact for clients, providing updates on the progress of their transactions, answering queries, and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
  • Title research and due diligence: The senior conveyancing paralegal conducts thorough research on property titles, ensuring that there are no encumbrances or legal issues that could affect the transaction. They also perform due diligence checks on the property, such as verifying planning permissions and building regulations.
  • Document preparation and review: They prepare and review legal documents related to property transactions, such as contracts, leases, and mortgage agreements. Accuracy and attention to detail are crucial in this role to ensure all documents are legally sound.
  • Coordination with stakeholders: The senior conveyancing paralegal liaises with various parties involved in the transaction, including real estate agents, mortgage lenders, surveyors, and other legal professionals. They ensure smooth communication and collaboration throughout the process.
  • Compliance and regulatory adherence: They stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance during the conveyancing process. This includes adhering to anti-money laundering regulations and maintaining client confidentiality.
  • Case management: They maintain organized case files, track deadlines, and manage multiple transactions simultaneously. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential in this role.
