(You should have the legal right to work and live in the location).PRACTICE AREA DESCRIPTIONGroup Services provides support to the business and covers Finance, HR, Business Development, IT, Marketing and Office Management. It consists of a team of valuable experts who provide trustworthy solutions to complex and everyday challenges. We are dedicated to accuracy and reliability and to work with each Practice Area, like interconnected cogs and flywheels, to build a trusted system.As part of Group Services, we have recently started a new service line, the Programme Management Unit (PMU). The PMU manages the operational and relational development and implementation of framework contracts, technical assistance mechanisms, grant management projects, and external PMOs to a wide variety of international donors and partners. Operating globally, the team cuts across all of Genesis Analytics’ expertise areas.ROLE DESCRIPTIONWe are seeking an enthusiastic and highly efficient Junior Financial Project Manager to join our team. The Financial Project Manager will play a crucial role in supporting projects within our organisation. This role requires exceptional financial knowledge, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully supporting projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgetary guidelines. Specific duties and responsibilities include:
  • Lead the financial management of assigned projects ensuring donor compliance.
  • Cash flow forecast management, including anticipating and planning for cash requirements based on project timelines.
  • Coordinate fund requests to ensure the firms capacity for supporting project operations and disbursing grants.
  • Ensure all (small and large scale) project invoicing and financial requirements are met on time.
  • Assist in identifying and assessing project risks, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing risk management plans.
  • Support with partner/sub-grantee risk assessments.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to driving efficiency in project delivery and financial operations.
  • Follow up on implementation of project audit recommendations.
  • Pipeline tracking for project resource allocation.
  • Implement tools and systems to facilitate efficient task management and tracking for project accountants.
  • All other duties as assigned .
RequirementsThe ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong desire for learning, coupled with experience working with USAID and managing project budgets in accordance with grant specifications. Responsibilities include overseeing expenditure monitoring, ensuring compliance with funding regulations, and maintaining alignment with grant requirementsYou are likely to have:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5 years minimum proven experience as Junior Financial Project Manager or a similar role, USAID experience required and Foundations experience is a plus.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan, organise, and prioritise tasks effectively, while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proficiency in financial software and project management tools. (Sage packages are a plus)
  • High proficiency MS Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in the complex environment of project management
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data privacy.
