Applications are invited for the following post:DEBTORS AND CREDITORS CLERKThe Debtors and Creditors Clerk's role is to work with the Bursar and Financial Assistant in dealing with all aspects of debtors and creditors:QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • A valid Matric Certificate
  • A completed bookkeeping certificate or appropriate academic qualification
  • Previous experience in a Debtors Clerk and Credit Controller Role
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a finance and accounting role, with school experience being advantageous
SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in accounting and office software, specifically in Excel
  • Strong administrative skills and numerical ability
  • Good understanding of the legal complexities of school debtors, including POPIA legislation
  • Effectively work under pressure and be deadline driven.
  • Hardworking and self-motivated with an aptitude for problem solving
  • Be able to work as part of a cohesive financial department
  • Willingness to support and uphold the school's unique Catholic ethos
  • A valid Police Clearance Certificate
RESPONSIBILITIESThe Debtors and Creditors Clerk will be responsible for the full debtor's function as well as credit control, with duties including, but not limited to:
  • Accounts receivable, collections, debtor's reconciliation, age analysis
  • Dealing with debtor and creditor account queries
  • Regular follow-up and recovery of outstanding debts
  • Providing support to the Finance Department
