- Assisting with cutting, trimming, deboning, and portioning various meat products.
- Ensuring meat is displayed attractively and correctly priced.
- Following hygiene, health, and safety standards at all times.
- Assisting with stock rotation, receiving deliveries, and checking quality of products.
- Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, tools, and equipment.
- Providing friendly and professional customer service when assisting clients with product selection.
- Learning and developing butchery skills under the guidance of senior blockmen/butchers.
- Previous experience in a butchery or meat-handling environment (advantageous but not always essential).
- Basic knowledge of meat types, cuts, and preparation methods.
- Strong attention to hygiene, safety, and detail.
- Good physical stamina (role involves standing for long periods and handling heavy products).
- Willingness to learn and grow in the trade.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Customer service orientation.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Basic numeracy skills for weighing and pricing products.
