Job PurposeA highly talented, dynamic and strategic Lead for the Data analytics and insights enablement function in CIB. This individual will establish and lead our efforts in transforming data into valuable business assets. This role will be responsible for collaboratively developing and executing strategies to commercialise our data, driving growth, efficiency and enhancing our competitive edge in the market.Job ResponsibilitiesStrategy and Solution Development:
  • Formulate and implement a comprehensive data insights and analytics enablement strategy aligned with NCIB's business objectives.
  • Create significant value by harnessing the potential of enterprise-wide data and translating it into valuable business solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven products and services. Identify opportunities and trends to leverage data products to unlock business value.
  • Drive and foster a culture of data literacy and data lead decision making in NCIB.
Data Governance and Performance Metrics:
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and industry regulations, maintaining high standards of data governance.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of data insights enablement initiatives.
  • Consistent Engagement and alignment with the Data Management Office and respective mandate.
Partnerships and Team Leadership:
  • Establish and manage strategic partnerships with the internal Nedbank data eco-system and external stakeholders to enhance data enablement efforts.
  • Talent Development: They play a key role in developing and mentoring data analytics talent within the organization, ensuring that your team has the skills needed to tackle complex data challenges.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of data professionals. Embrace agile thinking to identify opportunities for improving business processes, models, and systems, leveraging extensive expertise to make informed decisions.
Data and Analytics Enablement
  • Lead BI initiatives across business.
  • Leverage expertise in data toolsets for Business Intelligence, data preprocessing, advanced statistical analysis, machine learning, in developing data pipelines and solutions.
  • Leverage expertise in cloud computing to successfully deploy large-scale data science solutions on cloud platforms
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Colloborate with business units within CIB to deliver on Analytics initiative and drive analytics capabilty for the areas.
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment and ensure stakeholder requirements are captured and met
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Preferred QualificationSTEM QualificationEngineering Qualification,
Computer Science,
Econometrics,
Mathematical Statistics,
Actuary Science
Masters or Doctorate will be an added advantagePreferred Certifications
  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate: PL-300
  • Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals: DP-900
  • Microsoft: Azure Enterprise Data Analyst Associate: DP-500
Additional Certifications
  • Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate: DP-700
  • Implement a data science and machine learning solution with Microsoft Fabric
  • Other BI Certifications: Qlik, Tableau etc.
Minimum Experience Level
  • 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Business Intelligence and Data Science.
  • 5 years of developing PowerBI / Data Fabric Reporting and Complex Dashboards
  • Data Storytelling expertise and experience is essential.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing data analytics strategies.
  • 7 years’ experience in deploying multiple end to end analytical solutions in an organisation
  • 7 years’ experience working in data warehousing environment
  • Experience working with large data sets, simulation/ optimization, and distributed computing tools
  • Experience with working in machine learning, Deploying Solutions to stakeholders.
  • Experience Data Integration/Pipelines, Data Modelling and best practice Visualisation
  • Experience in financial services or investment banking environment preferred.
  • Agile methodology experience, working alongside engineering teams a must.
