Salary / CTC: R 35 000 (Approx. R25 000 take-home) + Company Vehicle, Cell Phone & Petrol Card
Report to: Sales Manager
Type: PermanentKey Responsibilities:
- Service existing customers and maintain strong relationships.
- Source new business and expand the customer base.
- Report to the office
- Achieve personal sales targets and budgets.
- Negotiate prices, prepare quotations, and address client queries effectively.
- Promote and sell products to new and existing clients.
- Ensure orders are processed and delivered according to client requirements.
- Collect CODs, cheques, and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Keep customer pricing profiles and records updated.
- Complete daily call sheets and maintain accurate sales reporting.
- Liaise with debtors/admin regarding outstanding accounts.
- Stay informed of competitor activity and market conditions.
- Attend bi-monthly sales meetings and daily one-on-one sessions with Sales Director.
- Assist with quarterly stock takes and ad-hoc tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Matric certificate (Grade 12) essential.
- Valid driver’s license.
- At least 3 years’ experience as an External Sales Representative.
- Experience in the timber and board industry is essential.
- English & Afrikaans speaking (bilingual).
- Strong selling and negotiation ability.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to influence and build rapport.
- Proactive problem-solving and multitasking ability.
- Customer-focused with relationship-building skills.
- Ability to think creatively and “out of the box.”
- Presentable and professional with strong business acumen.
- Proven track record in sales within the timber and board industry.
- Demonstrated ability to service existing customers and develop new business.
- Knowledge of competitor products, pricing, and market trends.

- Ability to bring in new business and retain existing clients.
