Business AnalystMain Outputs and ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with stakeholders via individual engagements, business meetings, Agile sessions, or JAD sessions to elicit requirements for existing business problems/challenges using best practices.Document both functional and non-functional requirements into:Business process mapsBusiness requirement definitionsBusiness requirements specificationsEnsure alignment with business architecture framework and strategy around people, process, and technology, understanding what the SDLC requires.Determine, design, and facilitate the correct business solution by engaging all relevant stakeholders and SMEs across business functions, prioritising client needs.Stakeholders include (but are not limited to):CustomersBusiness OwnersPartners / Internal ServicesOther business unitsArchitectsCompile functional specifications from the business solution and use cases/scope items for developers using the business requirements, in collaboration with architects:Stakeholders include:Business Solutions ArchitectPeersEnterprise/Solutions ArchitectsSenior DevelopersTest AnalystsDeliver use cases, activity and sequence diagrams to model solutions for the technical team.Represent information in formats that stakeholders can understand, aligned to the SDLC followed.Model the data requirements to support the new solution at a functional level.Investigate and analyse current business problems, offering recommendations:Automation/enhancements/fixesOperational readiness and supportMaintain traceability and attribute matrices using Enterprise Architect tools.System Understanding & ReusabilityUnderstand current and in-progress systems/technical capabilities:Operating Model and Business CapabilitiesRe-usable, Custom, and Vendor componentsIntegration capabilitiesIdentify reusable components in new/enhancement designs and avoid unnecessary custom solutions.Foster continuous improvement of current systems/components.Additional ResponsibilitiesBuild strong relationships by providing leadership and expert input.Deliver training and create user manuals for new systems.Lead scrum ceremonies when required.Formal Education:3/4-year IT or Business qualificationExperience:Mandatory:5+ years' experience in the Short Term Commercial Insurance domain7+ years Business Analysis experienceOptional:IIBA membership (preferred)CBAP certificationIndustrial Engineering backgroundSoft Skills / Competencies:Strong Emotional IntelligenceCustomer/Stakeholder Relationships & CommitmentBusiness Acumen & Strategic ThinkingResults-driven mindsetLeadership through change and innovationTeam motivation and inspirationCollaborative approachImpact and influenceSelf-awareness and insightDiversity and inclusivenessInstitutional Process Analysis & Redesign Thinking
