Operator - Bending - MaitlandFull job descriptionOPERATORS: Bending (x3)BACKGROUNDYoungman Roofing, a leading supplier of high-quality roofing and insulation products, is looking for suitably experienced individuals to join the Group as Bending Operators. The individuals will be required to cut or bend material as per the requirements of the manufacturing process.KEY RESPONSIBILTIESCut or bend material as per the size/quality/length/thickness required on the Works orders, and then feed to the next phase of the process flowLiaise with other Operators and other factory staff to ensure effective team workAdhere to machine operating procedures, including checking machine before beginning, accurate set up of machine, regular maintenance and cleaning of the machine, inspecting machine regularly for any problems and reporting to manager. Ensure only suitably qualified and experienced individuals operate the machineryAdhere to the company health and safety policiesEnsure minimal generation of excess material by working carefully to company procedures and minimizing errorsComplete any administration required, e.g. sign off work after completing job, ensuring sizes and quantities correctSKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEGrade 12 or equivalent. Alternatively, individuals will be given Recognition for Prior Learning if they are not in possession of a Matric certificate.At least 2 years experience in the metal industry, with at least 1 year experience operating relevant machine as per position applied for (Panfolder or Press Break)- Good technical skills- Ability to detect machine discrepancies- Ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment- Good communication skills- Precise & methodical in approach to work- Attention to detail- Able to work effectively as part of a team- Logical thinker- Deadline-driven- Shows initiative- Health and safety consciousJob Types: Full-time, PermanentExperience:metal industry: 2 years (Preferred)bending operating: 1 year (Preferred)
