- Financial Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and execute financial strategies that align with the Distribution Centre’s operational and growth objectives.
- Perform detailed financial analysis, forecasting, and modelling to support informed executive decision-making.
- Proactively identify risks and opportunities, providing clear, actionable recommendations to protect and grow the business.
- Track and interpret key financial metrics to assess operational performance and financial health.
- Partner with senior leadership to ensure that financial strategies drive both stability and sustainable growth.
- Financial Operations & Management:
- Oversee all core financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial controls, treasury, debt management, and insurance.
- Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting, in full compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.
- Lead the budgeting process and monitor performance against approved targets.
- Optimise capital structure, liquidity, and cash flow management to support operational efficiency.
- Monitor expenditure and drive cost-efficiency initiatives without compromising operational effectiveness.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure that the Distribution Centre operates in full compliance with applicable national regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
- Identify and assess financial risks at the DC level, developing and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Liaise with Auditors and the relevant regulatory authorities to ensure transparency, accuracy, and adherence to statutory requirements.
- Financial Management & Compliance:
- Manage budgets effectively, ensuring that expenditure remains within approved limits, while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Monitor expenses closely and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising performance.
- Uphold compliance with all relevant financial regulations, policies, and standards within the Distribution Centre.
- CA(SA)
- 12 years post-articles experience
- 10 years relevant FMCG experience
- Leadership competencies: business acumen, strategic focus and building effective teams
