DOWNLOAD OUR ONE-PAGER to find out more about who we are in a nutshell.Duties & ResponsibilitiesGeneric ObjectivesUndertake inspections on buildings and building constructions.Undertake Re-active Maintenance Tasks and Repairs wrt civil infrastructure.Ensure that best Operating Practice is applied when undertaking Maintenance Tasks / Repairs.Manage Maintenance MaterialEvaluate Check Sheets on a weekly basis.Supervision of Work Teams and Sub ContractorsPerform Risk AssessmentsSetup of civil checklists and building repair proceduresSite Specific ObjectivesConduct weekly maintenance planning sessionsSetup of Civil infrastructure checklists and procedures.Do Investigations into Building availability.Manage day to day work activities and planningLiase with sub-contractorsInspect work of subcontractors and sign off.Mentoring of direct reports.Ensure that ISO systems are implemented and adhered toEnsure that Health & Safety standards are incorporated into work activitiesCompile training needs analysis and schedule training courses for personnel.Perform inspections and compile reports on building envelope and roofing conditions.Design and install a PPM system for civil, and structural maintenance of all buildings and structures within the SU portfolioISO 9001; 14001 & 18001 – Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety StandardsAdhere to the TFS’s Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) Management System’s Policies & Procedures of as applicable to this position.Ad HocAny reasonable action requested by management.Skills and CompetenciesGood knowledge of buildings and building infrastructureGood knowledge of planned maintenance on building and civil infrastructure.Incident / Accident InvestigationsOHS Act RequirementsEnvironmental Act RequirementsNational Building RegulationsLabour RelationsRisk AssessmentsReport writingKnowledge of tools and materials used in the assigned area of responsibilityQualificationsN 6 / National Diploma Civil Engineering- Structural Engineering5 years min experience post trade test with management experience
