- Develop and implement sales plans for assigned strategic accounts.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, offering tailored support and advice.
- Apply retail pricing frameworks effectively to ensure profitability.
- Facilitate productive liaison meetings with dealers.
- Coordinate all after-sales activities for strategic accounts.
- Offer transport consultancy to advise on total cost of ownership.
- Foster and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Support Customer Satisfaction Management (CSM) initiatives to grow satisfaction and loyalty.
- Provide technical sales support for accurate vehicle selection.
- Ensure compliance with company SHE (Safety, Health & Environmental) policies and maintain clean and organized facilities.
- Consistently apply company best practices in all tasks.
- Meet or exceed annual sales targets, including unit sales, market share, and gross profit.
- Use only approved suppliers as per Southern Africa’s aftermarket panel to preserve vehicle warranties.
- Oversee all aspects of the deal process:
- Closing sales
- Vehicle selection and load body fitment
- Delivery and handover
- Payment collection and deal closure
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery and documentation for each vehicle transaction.
- Maintain proactive communication with customers throughout the sales process.
- Follow up with prospective customers weekly (via phone or email).
- Conduct at least two in-person visits per month to prospective clients.
- Contact current customers monthly by phone and conduct a follow-up visit at least once per month.
- Maintain and update your customer database in alignment with company standards (Excel or other approved formats).
- Submit updated customer information monthly to Sales Manager and Sales Administrator.
- Actively nurture the customer base by providing regular updates on local and national market trends and company offerings.
- Ensure timely vehicle invoicing and support the related processes.
- Monitor debtor payments to ensure alignment with agreed terms.
- Guarantee full payment for all cash sale transactions.
- Address and resolve any issues that deviate from standard procedures.
- Maintain high levels of customer engagement and provide accurate, relevant feedback.
- Represent the company as a reliable and trustworthy brand.
- Utilize electronic sales tools (e.g., Transolve, HTM) effectively.
- Contribute to departmental and company-wide goals in unit sales and profitability.
- Prepare and present customer quotations including at minimum:
- Electronic mass distribution side-view drawings
- For corporate clients: add route simulations and any additional supporting data
- Apply attention and diligence to every sales activity.
- Matric (Grade 12) or higher qualification
- 3–5 years’ experience in the commercial/trucking industry
- Code 14 driver’s license is advantageous
- Sound knowledge of the Road Traffic Act
- Confident and proactive approach
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent customer relationship skills
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal
- Collaborative team player
