- Leadership and Supervision: Lead and manage the melting personnel on shift. Monitoring and improving production efficiencies, managing cycle times and ensuring production targets are met. Motivate and encourage the team and foster teamwork.
- Quality and Continuous Improvement: Maintain the integrity of the ISO 9001 system. Ensure policies and procedures are followed, and where applicable, ensure continuous improvement is applied through controlled management of change.
- Technical and Operations: Guide the team on best practices relating to charging, operating and tapping furnaces. Oversee furnace and hadle relining activities ensuring operating conditions remain safe and within performance expectations. Monitor the movement and handling of charge materials.
- Reporting and Communications: Prepare and submit shift reports and necessary department documentation. Maintaining effective communication with other supervisors, departments, and management.
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
- 10 years of experience in foundry melting operations.
- 5 years of supervisory experience.
- A senior certificate or N3 as (minimum), physical metallurgy qualification or similar (desired)with strong mathematics and problem solving and reasoning ability.
- Computer literate.
