Port Elizabeth - Eastern Cape - South AfricaYou will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and improvement of all tooling, jigs, moulds, and fixtures to ensure production reliability and adherence to quality standards. This is a hands-on role that requires precision, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to compliance and safety. Applicants must currently reside in the Eastern Cape.Qualifications & Experience
- Matric (NQF 4).
- Trade Test: Toolmaker (NQF 5).
- Minimum 3 years technical/toolmaking experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience with toolroom machinery (lathes, mills, etc.).
- CNC exposure is advantageous.
- Computer literacy (MS Office; SAP/ERP systems).
- Knowledge of maintenance methodologies and SOPs.
- Customer-focused with a commitment to quality and compliance.
- Manufacture, maintain, and repair tooling, jigs, moulds, and fixtures to support production.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance and attend to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
- Support commissioning and trials of new project tooling.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement engineering modifications.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate tooling records, spares usage, and reporting documentation.
- Provide support and training to apprentices and production staff.
- Uphold cost-control measures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
